Privacy Policy

1. Who we are and scope

Gatepay is a SaaS service to create and manage payment links to monetize digital content and resources (the "Service"). This policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and share your personal data when you use the Service.

Unless stated otherwise, Gatepay acts as the data "controller" for data related to your account and your use of the Service. When you interact with wallets and public blockchains, processing performed by those third parties and infrastructures falls under their own responsibility and terms, which Gatepay does not control.

2. Data we collect

Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect the following categories of data:

• Account data: email address, profile information, preferences, login identifiers, and authentication logs.

• Usage data: pages viewed, features used, technical logs, truncated IP addresses, browser/device information, and event data for security and Service improvement.

• Web3 payments data (technical metadata): public addresses, amounts, transaction hash, network/asset used. Gatepay does not hold or have access to your private keys; we do not initiate transactions on your behalf.

• Protected content: when you create monetized links, we do not read the final protected content. We only process the metadata necessary for routing/access control (e.g., resource type, target URL, proxy/tunnel configuration) to deliver the Service.

3. Purposes and legal bases

We process your data to: (i) provide and operate the Service (contract performance), (ii) secure accounts and prevent abuse (legitimate interests), (iii) improve our products and support users (legitimate interests), (iv) comply with our legal obligations, and (v) where required, with your consent (e.g., non-essential cookies).

Data visible on the blockchain results from your interactions with public networks; its publication and permanence derive from how those networks operate, not from Gatepay.

4. Cookies and trackers

We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation and security of the Service. Subject to your consent, we may use analytics cookies/trackers to measure Service usage and improve the experience. You can manage your preferences through your browser and/or via controls provided in the Service.

Some embedded third-party content (e.g., players, analytics scripts, infrastructure providers) may set their own trackers; such processing is governed by their own privacy policy.

5. Recipients and processors

We may share data with providers acting on our behalf (hosting/cloud, security, emailing services, support, analytics) strictly for the purposes described above and under contracts compliant with applicable law.

Gatepay does not sell your personal data. The blockchains, wallets, and third-party identity providers you use are not our processors; they operate under their own responsibility.

6. Transfers outside the EEA

If transfers to countries outside the European Economic Area are necessary (e.g., cloud providers), we implement appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses) and assess, where applicable, the level of protection offered.

Data written to public blockchains may be replicated globally; Gatepay cannot restrict these replications, which are inherent to how such networks operate.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No measure provides absolute security, and we cannot guarantee total protection.

You are responsible for the security of your systems and wallet, and for keeping your credentials confidential. Gatepay never has access to your private keys and cannot recover or reset transactions carried out on public blockchains.

8. Data retention

We retain your personal data for no longer than is strictly necessary to provide the Service and to meet applicable legal obligations. Technical logs and usage data are kept for limited periods proportional to our security and audit needs.

Data written to a public blockchain generally cannot be deleted or modified by Gatepay.

9. Your rights

Under applicable law (including the GDPR), you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability. You can also withdraw your consent at any time where processing relies on it.

To exercise your rights, contact us via the dashboard or using the contact details available on our website. We may ask you to verify your identity. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your competent supervisory authority.

10. Web3 specifics and liability limitations

• Public and immutable data: blockchains are public, distributed ledgers. Any information written on-chain may be publicly visible and durable. Gatepay does not control access to, persistence of, or availability of such data.

• Wallets and third parties: the wallets, payment gateways, identity providers, tunnels, proxies, and external resources you use are provided by third parties, under their sole responsibility. Gatepay does not warrant their operation and cannot be held liable for incidents, losses, or disclosures attributable to those third parties.

• No custody/keys: Gatepay is not a custodian and holds no private keys. We cannot cancel, reissue, or recover blockchain transactions.

• User responsibility: you are solely responsible for the content you monetize, the data you include in your resources, and compliance with the laws applicable to you (including data protection and intellectual property). You agree not to use the Service to collect sensitive personal data without a valid legal basis.

11. Children’s data

The Service is not directed to persons under 15. We do not knowingly collect data relating to minors. If you believe a minor’s data has been provided to us, please let us know so we can take appropriate action.

12. Changes to this policy

We may modify this policy to reflect regulatory or functional changes. Any update will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. By continuing to use the Service after publication, you accept the revised policy.

13. Contact
